This is the Man-Eating Tree. I created this cryptid creature / monster art for Fairytales and Myths.
The yateveo plant is a carnivorous tree with a sturdy trunk native to South America and Africa. Making hissing sounds, it captures prey with poisonous tentacles resembling giant serpents by stretching out to grab prey when they come within reach. It sucks the blood out of the victim before disgorging the bloodless carcass.
